Surprising news for Kulula fans. Local designer Craig Port was enlisted to redesign the uniform for their 200 members of flight staff recently. The challenge was to create new, internationally competitive looks to commemorate their 10th anniversary in the sky. This includes coats, knits, low cut vests to wear over pinstriped shirts in aqua-blue and white and school-boy ties. Certainly more colourful.
“Our fans have grown-up with us over the years and today they are unpretentious urbanites who are value seekers, looking for the best deal on airfares and service with a witty smile. Our cabin crew play a major role in providing this, so it goes without saying that they need to be dressed for high-flying success,” concludes Damen.
The new look will also be worn by the Comair ground staff at all the airports that kulula and their sister company British Airways flies to. Do you think Port did the challenge justice?
Mmh...the lime green is a bit harsh on any one with a lighter skin tone, but overall not bad for airline uniforms.
